TIDAL POWER: India’s First

London’s marine energy developer Atlantis Resources Corporation has signed an agreement with the government of province of Gujarat to set up India’s first commercial tidal power plant with an initial capacity of 50MW. The first phase of the power plant is expected to be completed by 2013 and will then be scaled up to a capacity of 250MW at a cost of about $165 million.

The final tariff will be determined once the front-end engineering and design phase of the plant are completed.
