The Weir Group, Scotland has bought American Hydro which makes turbines for hydro-electric power stations for an undisclosed amount. The two companies have been working together for a decade now. American Hydro work force of 130 people has a turnover of about US$50m
Weir Group has, a couple of months back, increased its presence in India with the purchase of BDK Engineering Industries India. It specializes in valve manufacturing for energy sectors.
Weir Group already owns two other Indian facilities in the mining and power station sectors.
