HydroVision 2011
HydroVision India 2011 is a new event for the Indian hydropower sector. Co-located with POWER-GEN India & Central Asia, the region’s most important power related conference and exhibition, and Renewable Energy World India, this is the premier event for meeting the major players in the Indian and international energy sectors and learning about the latest developments, trends and technologies.
India was one of the world’s pioneers in hydroelectric generation and development of the sector remains central to its energy plans today. As recently as February 2010 India’s Minister of State for Energy reiterated the country’s commitment to significantly increase its hydro capacity, which currently accounts for 26% of national power production. The target is to raise that to 40%. India’s North-Eastern region alone, for example, is believed to represent a 58 GW potential, yet just 7% of this has so far been tapped into. Bridging this gap is vital to achieving the nation’s policy objectives, and the government has put incentives in place to support development in the sector.
With such support from the Indian government and the massive potential for growth, presenting at HydroVision India 2011 will place you in front of key influential hydropower professionals, in a region with huge growth potential.
