RRB Indian manufacturers of WTG expected to invest about US$100million in Rajasthan.
Most of the windmills in Tamil Nadu are manufactured by RRB besides Gujarat, Maharashtra, Kerala and Karnataka. The government also has an attractive policy that is getting WTG makers move into this desert area.
Wind energy potential in India is 48000 MW of which RRB will produce 10000 MW. The company recently launched its first 40 meter long blade with a capacity to generate 1.8 MW of wind power. Currently RRB has an installed capacity of 300 MW and this would go up to 700MW by March 2011. Its present order book stands at over US Dollar 200million.
Financially stable RRB is exploring overseas opportunities in Italy and Germany for setting up manufacturing facility. They were focusing on United States and European for exports.
