The dispute between Netherlands-based Brakel Corporation and Anil Ambani’s Reliance Infrastructure on allotment of tender for two hydro-power projects in Himachal Pradesh has reached the Supreme Court. The Himachal Pradesh High Court had ordered cancellation of two hydro power projects (Jangi Thopan and Thopan Powari) on river Satluj allotted to Brakel Corporation in 2006, holding that it was not qualified to bid. The high court order has been challenged by Brakel Corporation in the apex court. Then the two projects were allotted to the 2nd highest bidder Reliance Infra.
